Rationale

St. Cloud State University boasts a rich football tradition supported by alumni, families, and friends of the program. As we work to foster school pride and spirit through our game day atmosphere at Husky Stadium, we hope that you will help us keep the fan experience safe and courteous by adhering to the information below. Thank you for your support and GO HUSKIES!!!

Policy

St. Cloud State University permits tailgating in designated parking lots only. The Husky Pay Lot (located directly south of Husky Stadium) is reserved pregame for Huskies fans on a first come, first served basis. Limited handicap parking is also available free of charge in the same lot. Hours
Tailgating is restricted to the following times:

  • Tailgating may begin three (3) hours before game time.
  • Tailgating must end at the completion of the game.

All tailgating supplies must be properly disposed of, recycled, or stored in a vehicle. Disposal containers will be provided in the tailgating lot.

Guidelines

Tailgating Rules
The following items and activities are allowed in lots:

  • Gas grills with a maximum propane cylinder size of 20 pounds (small charcoal grills)
  • Small fire pits with screens
  • Portable outdoor furniture
  • Tents and awnings that do not require the use of stakes, block adjacent parking spaces, or impede drive aisles
  • Portable generators or propane heaters

The following items and activities are not allowed in lots:

  • Smoking or open fires (SCSU is a smoke-free campus)
  • Glass containers of any kinds, including bottles and cups
  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages is restricted to guests of legal age in the University approved hospitality area (on select game dates)
  • Kegs, party balls, drinking game accessories, or large quantities or common sources containers of alcoholic beverages
  • Couches or large furniture items
  • Promotional or marketing activities without prior and appropriate authorization from St. Cloud State Athletics
  • Sale of products, food or beverage
  • Occupying more than one parking space (unless approved by SCSU Athletics)
  • Obstructing adjacent parking spaces, drive aisles, or reserved spaces

Definitions

Alcohol

Any product, including spirits, wine, beer, or other containing one half of one percent or more of alcohol by volume and every consumable liquid or solid containing alcohol.

Controlled Substances

includes, but is not limited to, any drug, substance or immediate precursor in Schedules I-V of section 152.01 (MN Statutes). This definition includes any synthetic drug, prescription drug not issued to the student, and/or any otherwise lawfully available product used for any purpose other than its intended use.

Motorized or Motor Vehicle

An automobile (e.g., car, truck, van, etc.), a motorcycle (e.g. motor-driven cycle, scooter, moped, etc.), or any other self-propelled vehicle designed for running on land but not on rails or water.

Student

All Persons or group of persons who:

  1. Are enrolled in one or more courses, either credit or non-credit, through a college or university; or
  2. Withdraw, transfer, or graduate after an alleged violation of the code of student conduct; or
  3. Are not officially enrolled for a particular term but who have a continuing relationship with the college or university; or
  4. Have been notified of their acceptance for admission or have initiated the process of application for admission or financial aid; or
  5. Are not college or university employees and are not enrolled in the institution but live in a college or university owned or controlled residence hall.

Active Student:

   Criteria 1: 

  1. A degree-seeking student who has completed the enrollment process and has been admitted into the University, an undergraduate major or a graduate program of study; or
  2. A degree-seeking student who has completed the enrollment process and has not yet been admitted into the University, and undergraduate major or a graduate program of study; or
  3. A student seeking a graduate certificate

  Criteria 2:

 

         The student must have registered into and successfully completed at least one credit in a semester in the previous two years. 

 

A student who fulfills Criteria 1, will cease to be an active student at the University if they do not register for and successfully complete at least one credit in a semester within two years, will be administratively removed from the University and be categorized as inactive.

 

The credits that the student accumulates as an active student will not expire upon becoming an inactive student, unless the student has been admitted to a graduate program, refer to the Graduate Student Handbook for the program completion timeframe guidelines.

 

Graduate Studies at SCSU has procedures for an admitted student to request a leave or absence, please see the Graduate Student Handbook for information on that process.

 

An inactive student intending to return to the University will not have to reapply for admission to the University, but will need to reapply for admission into a current program of study.
